Our History
In the year 2007 after graduating from the Bible college, brother Lordson came back to his soil with no financial back up at all but only trusting that he Lord will lead him. As brother Lordson went around for two months sharing the Gospel nobody got saved and was discouraged. One fine day, a Hindu boy said “I want to know more about Christ! Brother Lordson shared the Gospel and the Lord saved him. Regular Bible study began with this young brother to be joined by three later.
On May 6th 2007 a small group of newly saved saints gathered in Brother Lordson’s Mother’s living room: altogether five people for the first sunday worship service in the history of the Grace and Truth Baptist church. Slowly the Lord saved a few more and by the end of the year the Lord has been blessing us and now we are up to 50 saint’s attending the English service and the Hindi service. We have wednesday Bible study, thursday cottage meeting and Saturday prayer meeting. Brother Lordson also gives free tuitions to children in the slum and on sunday teaches them Bible stories, songs hoping to see some children coming to Christ soon. They are all from non Christian families.
Tracts distribution is done widely by the Church. Gospel tracts has been distributed house to house, in the streets person to person , through News Papers etc. We have seen Many trusting Jesus Christ and a few have come to our church. We also go door to door to preach the gospel to the community.
The Lord has also allowed brother Lordson to preach in other states of India and Nepal. He has been Preaching, teaching and training the pastors around India and also the youths of India and Nepal. He preaches in revival meetings in churches around India and Nepal and has seen great fruits in this work too. Through this ministry our church has been blest to see thousands of souls saved, youths committing their life to Christ to serve in the ministry all over India and Nepal.
There are ups and downs in the work but the Lord is faithful to our Church. There are a lot of adversaries but we enjoy it because it is a part and a blessing of the Christian life. Difficulties keep us on our knees and keep me humble and totally dependent upon the Lord.
“We are a ministry that is committed to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ, to magnify the Word of God AV 1611, edify the saints and evangelize the sinners.”
Our Goal and Vision is to be a light house in Goa and send the light of the Gospel to every individual of Goa and India and there by reach the world. Having met at Pastor’s Mom’s living room for the last several years we now meet in the heart of the Capital City of Goa at the leading of the Holy Spirit at Hotel Rajdhani Panaji Goa. We are consistently growing both spiritually and in Numbers. We covet your prayers for our own church building in the near future and the needs for it.
Church Mission
What is our Mission at Grace & Truth Baptist Church?
1. Exalt the Saviour
We are committed to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ in every areas of our life. First is first, we exist to worship the Lord, serve Him and have a daily closer walk with him. Jesus Christ is everything to us. We strive to know Him more everyday and make Him known to the world today.
2. Magnify the Scriptures
King James Bible is our final authority for all our faith and practice. We are committed to build your faith in the Word of God, never correcting the Bible but allowing the Bible to correct us. Never changing any word but allowing the Bible to change us. We magnify the Bible above any other teachings.
3. Edify the Saints
Every effort will be made to help you understand the words of the Lord and to edify and encourage you to apply their truths to your day to day life. We recognize that all of the Christian life includes and demands change towards Christ-likeness. We place a high priority on maturing and equipping disciples for useful service.
4. Evangelize the Sinners
We are a passionate church to fulfill the Lord’s commission of seeing others come to know the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. We do this by having a good testimony in and around where we live and share the gospel person to person or 101, we pass out lots of Gospel tracts everywhere to everyone, Put up Gospel banners in the streets, invite people to our fellowship and follow up with them.
Statement of Faith
Statement of Faith – what we believe
We believe that the King James Bible is the Inspired, Preserved, Pure, Perfect, Word of God without any error, to the English speaking world. The sole authority for life and faith.
We believe in one God eternally existent as the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost.
We believe God to be the creator and sustainer of all things, visible and invisible.
We believe the universe and all that is therein to be held together by the word of His power.
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ to be God manifest in the flesh, virgin born, without sin, crucified, risen and coming again to receive His church, then returning to establish His kingdom.
We believe that salvation is a gift received through repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe the saved child of God is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ, and is sealed, taught, and comforted by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption.
We believe salvation makes one a member of the body of Christ and the members of this body should gather together in a local church where they may minister one to another.
We believe it is the responsibility of every believer to proclaim the saving gospel to all men by personal testimony and by giving of their means to finance the missionary efforts of the church.
We believe all men rejecting the Lord Jesus Christ will spend eternity in the conscious torment of a literal lake of fire, while those receiving the Lord Jesus Christ will spend eternity in the glorious presence of God.
We believe all saved men should be separate from the outward and inner ways of this world, being holy in mind and body. We believe, however, that righteousness does not come by keeping of laws and commandments but by an inner change of heart. We therefore place emphasis on the inner condition, trusting the outward appearance to follow accordingly.
We believe that water baptism is a public testimony made by the saved Christian and plays no part in salvation or making one a member of the church.
We believe that any attempt by the state to interfere with the working of the church or by the church to interfere with the working of the state is a violation of God’s purpose for both.
We believe in the priesthood of all believers and decry any fashion of exalting one member of the body of Christ, or one gift of the Spirit above another.
We believe that the church is a body of which Jesus is the head. Thus it is not a democracy to be run by the will of its members but is to conduct its temporal as well as its spiritual business in strict accordance to the word of God.
